The Innsbruck Alpine Zoo is the highest zoo in Europe and exhibits over 150 native animal species from the Alpine region in natural enclosures. With its unique location, it offers spectacular views of the mountains and provides exciting insights into the Alpine animal world.
Situated on a sun-drenched terrace above Innsbruck, Europe’s highest zoo (750 m) features a unique collection of over 2,000 animals of 150 species indigenous to the Alps. Including an aquarium, terrariums, a farm with endangered domestic breeds, walk-in enclosures, Europe's largest golden eagle aviary, bears, wolves, otters, a play park and much, much more, the zoo offers a memorable experience for young and old!
Information on accessibility: The Alpine Zoo is situated on a slope and is partially accessible. The paths in the area are non-slip, level and stepless, but very steep in places. Electric wheelchairs may not have sufficient braking power on these sections. The lower half of the site is much easier to navigate. A passenger lift provides barrier-free access to the restaurant and kiosk. A disabled toilet is available.
